Find and open a contact
Start in: Contacts
- Enter part of a name or another known detail in Search contacts.
- Allow the results to refresh as you type.
- Select the matching contact row to open its workspace tab.
- Clear the search text to broaden the result list.
Result: The selected contact opens in a tab, or an already-open tab for that contact is selected.
- Basic Search covers names, direct email and phone details, job titles, organisation text, Contact Tags and File Tags.
- Address searching starts when you enter at least three characters.
- Advanced Search adds notes, department details and file metadata. The default text matching mode is Starts with; Contains is available in Advanced Search.
Search notes, files and selected contact fields
Start in: Contacts → Advanced Search
- Select Advanced Search beside the contact search box.
- In Search in, select the fields you want searched, such as Notes, File Title, File Description or Email.
- Use Type, Contact Tags, File Tags, Files and Notes to restrict which contacts are returned.
- Choose Starts with, Ends with, Exact or Contains under Match and choose a Sort by option.
- Enter the search text and open a result. Select Reset to restore the filter defaults, or Basic Search to leave advanced mode.
Result: Contacts are filtered by the selected fields, matching mode and criteria.
- When every Search in field is selected, selecting one field makes it the only selected field. Selecting the sole selected field returns to all fields.
- Reset restores filter defaults; clear the search text separately when you want an unrestricted search.
Understand what file search examines
File searches examine metadata such as titles, descriptions, tags, filenames and saved locations. They do not search the contents of documents.
Use the available Advanced Search fields for contact-wide searches, or the contact’s Files tab to look through files belonging to that contact.
Use contact tabs and split search
Start in: Contacts or an open contact workspace
- Open the contacts you want to work with from search results.
- Select their tabs to switch between records. Use a tab's Close control to close its workspace.
- Select the split-view icon whose tooltip is Open contact search split view.
- Search on the left and select a contact to show its detail workspace on the right.
- Use Close contact search split view to return to the normal workspace layout.
Result: Search can stay available alongside contact details without opening duplicate tabs for the same contact.
- The split control is available in Contacts and contact workspaces, not every navigation page.
- Import processing can temporarily prevent normal CRM navigation.
Choose a matching rule
Starts with matches the beginning of a value; Ends with matches its ending. Exact matches the full value, and Contains finds text within a value.
For no results, check the selected fields and contact type, try Contains and remove tag or file filters. Reset restores filters; clear search text separately.
Sort and browse the results
Advanced Search provides field selection, contact type, tag filters, notes or files presence, text matching, and sorting by name, creation or last edit.
Reset restores the advanced filters. Clear the search text separately when you want an unrestricted search.
Results show a count and scroll as more rows load. There are no numbered-page or page-size controls. Open results in tabs, or use split view to keep search alongside a contact.
