Export contacts to CSV
Start in: Export → Export to CSV
- Open Export and review what will be included.
- Choose Export to CSV, select a destination and filename, then save.
- Wait for Export complete and check the contact count and destination.
- Open the completed CSV in your spreadsheet or destination software and check representative contacts.
- Use Cancel export while it runs if needed; start a new export later rather than expecting a saved checkpoint.
Result: A CSV with one row per person or organisation is saved.
- The export includes all person and organisation contacts, regardless of search filters or selection.
- Exported contact information includes industries and department names. Addresses become readable text.
- Notes, tags, activities and attachments are excluded. Detailed field and department relationships are not preserved in the CSV.
- Check contacts with several repeated details against the completed file before relying on the export.
- Cancellation does not publish an incomplete CSV; progress is not saved after closing the app.
Check and protect the completed file
Compare the contact count and representative Person and Organisation rows, including contacts with several email addresses, phone numbers, websites or addresses.
Check that the repeated values you need are present and that the destination software can read the columns. CSV export is not a complete or lossless backup of the CRM.
Spreadsheet software can reinterpret phone numbers, leading zeroes and dates. Choose suitable column types and retain the original CSV.
The file contains contact information. Store and share it deliberately. Use Backup & restore for notes, tags, activities and managed files.
